Who We Are

Welcome to the Library Foundation of North Texas, Inc.

Public libraries in Texas receive governmental support through property taxation, sales tax and other local initiatives but these revenues never fully enable the library board and its director to achieve the high levels of programming or collection development that is needed today.

Public libraries have a difficult time keeping up with the public's need for the latest in current fiction and non-fiction, books on tape, DVDs, videos, Internet and computer technology, newspapers and magazine subscriptions.

The Library Foundation of North Texas was formed in order to expand the services and resources of the North Texas Regional Library System (NTRLS) and provide grants to supplement library funding to keep residents linked to electronic resources, continue the learning and reading experience for people of all ages and ensure that gaps in literary, reference and non-fiction titles are minimized.

Libraries of all sizes need help with funding.

"The richest person in the world, in fact, all the riches of the world couldn't provide you with anything like the endless, incredible loot available at your local library." - Malcom Forbes.
